The Statistical database (SDB) is using the software package called SuperSTAR and it is intended to replace the ISIS database. For the moment, both databases, ISIS and SDB, are provided in parallel, while the Statistical Database (SDB) includes material which is not (or no more) available from ISIS. SDB is much more up-to-date and customer-friendly in application, the utilisation of interfaces to Microsoft Office products is supported much better and is already integrated in parts into SDB (in a simplified manner). An overview about the latest updates you will find here.
Please take note of our current pieces of information and support within FAQs and bugs.
Everybody with an Internet access to the Statistics Austria website is in a position to use the Statistical database free of charge. For the time being, only freely available data are being provided. A registration enabling the use of the whole data volume will be possible only after the shutdown of ISIS. During the changeover period we shall update information regularly as to which database is providing specific data at the respective moment.
SDB may be started in two different ways:
Please note that currently there is only demo data available in English.
Within the chapter online help you will find an online tutorial enabling a quick access to the handling of SuperWEB (this is the part of the software package used for external users). We recommend going through the tutorial sequentially, after which simple charts may be drawn and made available for further processing.
A detailed description you will find in our online help, where you may read about special functions and more detailed tasks explained by means of examples.
