General information service
For general queries about data and publications from Statistics Austria, the General information service personnel on the ground floor of our premises are the "first port of call" for queries from visitors and telephone callers.
For instance, you can view current publications here (copying facilities are available). On request – and for a charge – we can also send copies by post, fax or e-mail, and can carry out database searches. All Statistics Austria publications, not to mention maps and summary reports, can also be purchased over the counter.

Library
The Statistics Austria Library is one of the most important specialist statistical libraries. Its work is primarily concerned with the compilation of official statistics. Statistical yearbooks from around 100 countries worldwide are available in the Library’s reading room. The Library also holds a broad range of publications from Eurostat, international statistics organisations and institutions as well as historical publications from Statistics Austria.

Press information
Journalists are invited to use this information service designed specifically for their needs. Staff will be pleased to assist with queries regarding press releases and information about Statistics Austria data, and receive registrations for press conferences and workshops. They furthermore organise Statistics Austria’s attendance at trade fairs and events and deal with all PR matters.

Information on European statistics
Eurostat – the Statistical Office of the European Communities (EC) – provides a wide range of statistics for all countries and regions of the EC. The European Data Service (EDS) is a service point of the Federal Statistical Office of Germany which assists all users requiring official European statistics. It mainly provides statistics published by Eurostat and its service is aimed at all users that require harmonised statistical data on the EU, the Eurozone, the 25 EU-Member States and some of the key EU partner countries. Furthermore they offer information on methodological aspects and can also contact the Eurostat units responsible for certain statistics on your behalf, should this prove to be necessary.
