Verdienststrukturerhebung 2006, Struktur und Verteilung der Verdienste in Österreich

This publication contains results of the Structure of Earnings Survey (SES) carried out for the reference year 2006 and a comparison with the results of the SES 2002. Additionally it presents selected tables and graphs with core results on gross hourly, monthly and annual earnings for all member states of the European Union. Thus, the purpose of the present publication is to give a comprehensive picture on the structure and distribution of earnings in Austria and the European Union.

The Austrian SES 2006 provides reliable and comparable information on the level and structure of remuneration of 2.2 million employees. The results give detailed information on the relationships between the level of remuneration, individual characteristics of employees (sex, age, occupation, length of service, highest level of education, etc.) and their employer (economic activity, company size and location).

The current results refer to persons employed in enterprises with at least 10 employees in sections C to K and M to O of the economic activity classification scheme ÖNACE 2003. So the SES 2006 covers the whole industry (sections C to F of ÖNACE 2003) and service sector (sections G to K and M to O of ÖNACE 2003; excluding L - Public administration and defence; compulsory social security).
