Tourismus in Österreich 2007

The number of guests from Austria and abroad along with the structure of Austrian accommodation establishments form an important basis for planning and analysing the development of this strategic sector of the Austrian economy. The detailed regional breakdown of the statistics contained in this publication makes it an indispensable reference work for municipalities and local tourism associations.

Numbers of guests are shown in detail at municipality level by country of origin and season. Data is also provided on occupancy, spa and city breaks, and on the international position of Austrian tourism. Tourism-specific indicators are used to give a global overview, and information is also provided on specific subareas. In addition, selected results are presented for periods in the past.

New correction and checking procedures have substantially improved the quality of these statistics: A designated e-mail address, online availability of data entry forms and an electronic entry module ('Gemstat') make it easier for municipalities to report data and help ensure that information is up-to-date and accurate. The data contained in this brochure is also available on CD-ROM.
