Turnover in industry and construction in October 2021 rose by 13.9% compared to October 2020 and by 11.1% compared to October 2019

"Supply bottlenecks and shortages of raw materials have somewhat slowed down the rapid economic upswing of Austria's industry and construction in October 2021, affecting the construction sector in particular. Nevertheless, turnover in October 2021 was 13.9% above the same month last year and 11.1% above the pre-crisis level of October 2019," said Statistics Austria Director General Tobias Thomas.
Considering the industrial and the construction sector
separately, the turnover index shows an increase in industry
In the reporting period August 2021,
a total of 75 652 enterprises in the entire industry
and construction sector turned over €27.1 bn
In the reporting period January to August 2021, turnover increased by 22.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to €215.3 bn.
