Vienna, 2021-09-11 – According to preliminary data from Statistics Austria, 754 enterprises were insolvent in the third quarter of 2021. The number of insolvencies in Q3 2021 is still 37.6% below the pre-crisis level of Q3 2019, but increased by a quarter (24.2%) compared to the same period of the year 2020. However, this increase can be explained to a large extent by the fact that enterprises again have the obligation to file for bankruptcies since July 2021.

In the third quarter of 2021, 13 719 registrations were recorded, 19.9% less than in the third quarter of 2020 with 17 128 registrations. Compared to the corresponding period before the crisis, Q3 2019 (15 738 registrations), this corresponds to a minus of 12.8%.
