January to June 2016: increase in imports (1.6%)
and exports (1.2%)

– In the period January to June 2016, total imports amounted to €66.57 bn
and total exports amounted to €65.51 bn, according to preliminary results
by Statistics Austria. Compared to the same period in 2015, Austrian
imports increased by 1.6% while Austrian exports rose by 1.2%. The global
foreign trade balance showed a deficit of €1.07 bn.
