Vienna, 2010-08-30 – At the end of May 2010, Austrian construction companies (not including construction auxiliary trades) had an order book totalling EUR 6.6 bn (-9.7% y. o. y.), according to calculations by Statistics Austria.

In civil engineering, which constitutes 49.7% or EUR 3.3 bn of the overall volume of outstanding orders, orders decreased by 15.9% compared to the previous year. However, in construction of buildings orders also decreased by 3.3% (EUR 3.3 bn in absolute terms) in comparison to the year before.
