– In the first half of 2010, the provisional
number of marriages was 16 588. Compared to the same period of the previous
year, this represents an increase of 5.9% (January to June 2009: 15 665).
Thus, the already positive trend of 2009 (+0.7% compared to 2008) continued
considerably. In the past twelve months
(July 2009 – June 2010), the provisional number of marriages in Austria
increased by 1.7% over the same previous period (July 2008 - June 2009)
to 36 343.
