Preliminary foreign trade results January to December 2009: decrease of imports by 18% and exports by 20%
Vienna, 05 March 2010 – According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria total imports amounted to 97.83 bn euro and total exports amounted to 94.17 bn euro in the period January to December 2009. Austrian imports decreased by 18.2% and Austrian exports by 19.9% compared to the period January to December 2008. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of 3.66 bn euro.
