Vienna, 29 January 2010 – According to calculations by Statistics Austria, Austrian building construction and civil engineering companies achieved a construction output value of EUR 12.7 bn in the reporting periods January until October 2009 (a reduction of 5.4% over the previous year). Breaking production down into construction sectors, there were negative trends in both construction of buildings (-1.3%) and civil engineering (-10.5%). Data from construction auxiliary trades is not taken into account here.
