This publication relates to road traffic accidents with personal injury.

The detailed report contains data about accidents and casualties and offers a number of starting points for specific analyses and safety measures in the field of road safety and traffic policy.

A comprehensive table section shows time series on accident statistics in recent years including indicators and background data. Information is also provided on accident statistics by built-up/non- built-up areas and road type as well as on trends over time by months, days of the week and hours of the day. The numbers of accidents, persons injured and killed are shown by accident types. Persons involved in accidents are presented by age, gender, degree of injury and road user type. Special topics are for example accidents involving children or pupils, drink-drive accidents as well as lorry and bus accidents. Tables concerning federal provinces and political districts give some regional analyses of accident statistics.

This publication is published annually and consists of text, graphics and tables. The data in this brochure are also available on CD-ROM.
