Vienna, 6 July 2009 – Based on first calculations from January to May 2009 the Austrian turnover in retail trade at nominal values was on the previous year’s level. Sales fell by 0.1%, compared to the five months in the year before. The food sector with an increase of 2.1% at nominal values and a slight decrease of sales by 0.2% was responsible for this result.
