Vienna, 11 December 2009 - According to Statistics Austria approximately 4.10 million persons living in Austria aged 15 years and over, made around 6.75 million holiday trips in the period from July to September 2009, which corresponds to an increase in holiday trips of 10.3% compared with the same quarter in the previous year. This increase is mainly due to short trips (with one to three nights), which increased by 14.8%. Overall, the number of domestic holiday trips increased by 9.8%, the number of holiday trips abroad increased by 10.8%.
