Gebarungen und Sektor Staat 2007 - Teil I

The publication 'Gebarungen und Sektor Staat'('Public Finance and Sector Government') is annually being edited in two volumes since the reference year 2003. Part I now available presents ESA 95-data about sector general government compiled end of March 2008, budget figures, some actual benchmark results according to the tax sharing system, an overview regarding all public units analysed and metadata about sources and methods. The time series cover the years 2003 to 2006 (overview, all public units), 2004 to 2007 (ESA, tax sharing system) and 2005 to 2008 (budget figures).

Part II is expected to be published in November 2008. Contents: Detailed data on all public units and the tax sharing system, ESA 95-figures about sector general government compiled end of September 2008.

Information about Public Finance can be gathered and presented twofold.
a) The 'Finance Statistics' contains data on receipts, expenses, personal resources and balance sheets of the federal, state and local governments and the taxes shared between those units plus earmarked intergovernmental transfers.
b) From the National Accounts' point of view revenue and expenditure of all units belonging to the general government sector according to the concepts and classifications of the System of European National and Regional Accounts (ESA95) are shown.
