Preliminary foreign trade results January to October 2009: Imports decreased by 20%, exports by 23%
Vienna, 08 January 2010 – According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria total imports amounted to 80.80 bn euro and total exports amounted to 77.62 bn euro in the period January to October 2009. Austrian imports decreased by 20.4% and Austrian exports by 23.0% compared to the period January to October 2008. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of 3.19 bn euro.
