Preliminary foreign trade results January to September 2009: imports at –20%, exports at –24%; slightly improved results for September
Vienna, 03 December 2009 – According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria total imports amounted to 71.97 bn euro and total exports amounted to 68.95 bn euro in the period January to September 2009. Austrian imports decreased by 20.4% and Austrian exports by 23.5% compared to the period January to September 2008. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of 3.01 bn euro.
