Preliminary foreign trade results January to August 2009: imports and exports show decrease of more than 20%
Vienna, 06 November 2009 – According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria total imports amounted to 63.08 bn euro and total exports amounted to 60.59 bn euro in the period January to August 2009. Austrian imports decreased by 21.0% and Austrian exports by 23.8% compared to the period January to August 2008. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of 2.49 bn euro.
