Preliminary foreign trade results January to July 2009: decrease of imports by 21% and exports by 24%
Vienna, 02 October 2009 – According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria total imports amounted to 56.05 bn euro and total exports amounted to 54.16 bn euro in the period January to July 2009. Austrian imports decreased by 21.2% and Austrian exports by 24.0% compared to the period January to July 2008. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of 1.89 bn euro.
