2009 – According to Statistics Austria, the vegetable production in
2009 amounted to 594.600 tons which, despite of reductions of harvested
area (–4%), meant a surplus of 4% compared to the previous year. A
gain of 10% was noted in relation to the average production of the last
five years. The increase of harvested vegetables was mainly caused by
the group of root and tuber vegetables including pulses
