Industrial producer price index in May 2010: +2.9% against May 2009

Vienna, 2010-07-20 – As reported by Statistics Austria the Industrial Producer Price Index, IPPI 2005, reached 109.2 points in May 2010, representing a price increase of 2.9% compared to May of the previous year. After the increases in April 2010 (+2.5%) and March 2010 (+0.5%) industrial producer prices continued to register an upward trend. The increase of the Price Index in May 2010 was mainly due to price increases of intermediate goods (+4.6%) and the rise in energy prices (+7.7%). The index rose by 0.8% between May and April 2010.
