Welcome to the quick tour

Even without user rights you may get an impression of the graphical user interface by signing on as a guest user. The guest mode presents an amount of data the structuring depth and scope of which are restricted. Please also see the chapter "Structuring cirteria".

For new users there is a quick tour as well as the "quick tour for swithcers" for experienced host users.

By means of an example, the quick tour for new users provides information on how easily data may be obtained via the graphical user interface.

Please note that the data used in the examples are fictitious test data and do not correspond to the original content of the ISIS database!

It is subdivided into two parts dealing with the following topics:

Chapter "quick tour basics":

• keyword search
• how to build a simple query
• how to request a commentary
• how to run a query on screen
• how to copy the output table of the converted table into the clipboard to contimue processing it (eg., in MS EXCEL (TM))

Chapter "quick tour extensions":

• thematic search
• keyword catalog
• to run an existing query
• direct output of file via PC
