Quick tour guidelines

In this section, we create a simple table and convert it via clipboard into an MS EXCEL (TM) spreadsheet.

If you wish detailed information on the components used please click on to the corresponding links towards online help.

The required table should include the following information:

Keyword search

Before you build a query to receive the desired table you have to know where the corresponding data are located. For this information please click first on the button Database in the window "ISIS integrated..." then click on keyword search.. . The window "Keyword search" is opened. Enter into search expresson 1 : "nights spent" and click on the search button.

In the middle section of the window the following found segments are displayed:

Retrieve commentary

To receive more detailed information on the data of the first segment, we request the commentary pertaining to segment Z5Z.. Highlight segment Z5Z and click on the button commentary within the window "Keyword search" (see above).

Click on the button close to close the window "Commentary".

Build new query

Z5Z is the first segment found which contains data on the keyword NIGHTS SPENT. For our table we need a valuation according to the cirteria province and time. To find out wether the segment Z5Z qualifies please open the subdirectory all criteria by clicking on to the box containing the "+" .

The subdirectories "Time series", "Obligatory criteria", "Parallel criteria of the first and second level" as well as "Other criteria" are displayed. If you open these subdirectories, the criteria A10 Time (time series) and B00province (1st level parallel criteria) appear: the segment may be used for our table.

Highlight segment Z5Z and click on to the button Build new query... . The Window "Build new query" is opened.

To add nights spent to the query, either highlight the result of the keyword search or open the subdirectory Obligatory criteria and select nights spent before you click on the button Select.

Subsequently, please highlight Burgenland, Upper Austria and Vienna (multiple highlighting by keeping the CRTL button pressed during higlighting) as well as January 2000, February 2000 and March 2000 and add them by means of the button Select on the query.

Enter into the box Query name the name MUSTER; click on save and close the window by using the button close.

Change query plus screen output

The window "Build/change/run a query" is opened. Highlight the query MUSER and continue by clicking on Run.. .

The finished table is displayed.
