Thematic structuring of individual data

The (structural) criterion represents the structuring variable of ISIS . It classifies an object by stating the "values" of a feature used to distinguish between individual objects (items).

Features of a structuring criterion

Every criterion has a criterion code (e.g. B00) and a criterion name (e.g. province).

Specification of code in angle brackets (<>)

Angle brackets indicate as well wether the criterion is <free> or will incur a fee (not specified).

Between these criteria there is a hierarchical relationship, which is why in presentation, they are characterized as parallel. From parallel criteria, you may chose but one.
