General affairs

To change over into the expert mode you have to highlight the control box Expert mode and click on OK. If you now wish to have item numbers displayed please got on by highlighting the control box Show ISIS item numbers.

To set back the user settings stored in your PC (printing options, clipboard, etc.) please highlight the control box Set user settings to default values.

Only if there are commands in the ISIS command queue (which should not be the case as soon as this dialogue is displayed) the control box Remove all pending ISIS commands is active. The queue may be emptied by highlighting the control box and clicking on OK.

To have free data displayed in red, please highlight the control box Colour cost-free data (see chapter "Facts that may be interesting to guest users").

If the box Mark cost free data is active, <free> is displayed in angle brackets next to the free data.

To have free data presented, exclusively, please highlight Show free data only. Now, chargeable data are suppressed.

Warnings

Please note that warning settings are not stored with the user profile.

If while running a query, you transgress the preset cost limits a warning is shown; to suppress this warning please highlight the control box Hide fee limit warning.

If you perform a query with screen output and data request has not been finished, yet, a warning is displayed in case of a change to another activity (e.g., have the query list displayed). If you want to suppress this warning during the present session please highlight the control bos Hide data incomplete warning.

The demo-data for the guest mode are updated if required, only. If this update is more than two days ago a warning is displayed. To suppress this warning please highlight the control box Hide data out-of-date warning.

Cache memory

The cache memory is a temporary memory on your PC storing the data requested by the host for the building of a query (e.g., segments, item lists, commentaries etc.). If you request those data several times during one and the same session they are not repeatedly imported from the host but used directly from the chache. Where one and the same user identification is concerned the content of the caches remains the same until the end of the programme.

If desired, the cache memory may be deleted. If during one session, you want to request the same data from the host once again please highlight the control box Clear all ISIS data from cache memory and click on OK.
